I spent 14 hours at the studio this weekend and this is what I did.
Finish some new vases I started last weekend. I am very excited about these. I flirted with the lip of the vase by allowing elements to go beyond. Each of these pots were thrown on the wheel then cut in half and altered. I takes me about an hour to create each one. I have 16 completed.
These are my new cups. I used to make cups all the time but have not for the last few years. It felt good to make them again. I love making cups. I love the idea of some one holding it in their hands, the intimacy of them placing it on their lips and as a tool to nourish the body. I could go on and on about the beauty of a hand made cup!
I thought about how to display my work for the upcoming Open House. Note: No white walls here! :)
I decided that I want to start painting again. It is an itch that over comes me at least once a year. I am going to be developing my ideas in my sketchbook (IWB to you). My goal is to get a painting studio set up in the basement of my home this week and start collecting materials.
What did you do for art's sake this weekend?

I started my ceramics class this weekend! I finally got to see the pagoda I spent almost an entire semester making. I'll have to show you a picture some time. It's really neat. It's a set of three boxes that can be stack up to look like a building and its raku glazed.
Ha, i understood nothing in that post Mel. Ur so crazy talented!
Mrs. Green... could bring some of your stuff from high school next week and your recent paintings.

Okay, I uploaded a bunch of photos of my little ceramics tower. It really amuses me.
