The lawsuit of Shepard Fairey is a grand discussion in the art world as of late. It confronts the the question of copyright laws and artists responsibilities. Read this article for more information. What do you think? How is this any different than Andy Warhols work? What is the responsibility of the artist?Do I need to even mention the Yan Pei-Ming show at the Des Moines Art Center? Is this only an American issue with art or that of other countries too? Shepard Fairey and artists like Banksy challenge societies ideas of elitist art vs public art. Watch this YouTube interview with Fairey to hear his rational of his work. On another note, both Fairey and Banksy are great examples of stencil artists and propaganda. should i sketch my images of people in my IWB, and then copy them onto the computer? Or should i do them on a different sheet of paper? Oh, and did u ever get a email back from the guy who let us use that room for spraypainting?
What do you mean copy them onto a computer? Do you mean scan? You can draw them where ever you like. Not all computer printers work with the photo transfer. I suggest drawing them and then using a copy machine to make the prints to transfer. I bet Dahls by your house has one for public use.
He did not find anything in his room. I would suggest going to his room to check for yourself. He could have just not seen it.
Thanks, Mrs.Green!
Can you post the new Studio Work/Gallery Visit IWB requirements on the wiki?
